PRIDE FACULTY & STAFF ASSOCIATION (PFSA)
The UCF Pride Faculty & Staff Association is an organization representative of the University of Central Florida’s goal to be more inclusive and diverse. PFSA’s mission is to promote an environment which fosters cultural sensibility and enrichment by providing quality programming, networking opportunities, and guidance to UCF’s LGBTQ+ students, faculty, and staff on all UCF campuses. We have an active board and are busy preparing for exciting activities and events throughout summer and into the new school year! The vision for PFSA includes being a resource to the UCF administration and we divide our interests into three areas: education, advocacy, and outreach. We invite you to join us in being a more inclusive campus at UCF by participating in PFSA activities and programs! For more information or to join our mailing list, contact President Carrie Moran or Outreach Coordinator Jeremy Foskitt at PFSA@ucf.edu and don’t forget to ‘Like’ us on Facebook to keep up with all of PFSA’s happenings!
WEBCOURSES QUIZ EXTENSIONS
CDL has developed a Webcourses@UCF integration called Quiz Extensions. This integration provides one place to give students extra time to all existing quizzes/exams. Quiz Extensions is available in all Webcourses@UCF courses; however, it has to be added to the course menu. For directions on how to enable and use Quiz Extensions, please visit https://online.ucf.edu/support/webcourses/integrations/quiz-extensions/

FACULTY WRITING CLUB SUMMER 2016
Join a faculty writing club to start your summer off with a focus on productivity and camaraderie. Having trouble getting into a good writing rhythm? Need to get away from your office to get a change of perspective and a little privacy? Forget the coffee shop—join your colleagues on Thursday and Friday mornings from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. in FCTL for a loosely structured writing session. We'll take five or six minutes each week to go around the room and state a goal for the time block and then spend the rest of the time working on our individual projects. Bring your own laptop or use an FCTL computer. And of course there will be coffee. Everyone is welcome!
NOTE ABOUT LISTSERV ANNOUNCEMENT SUBMISSIONS
The Faculty Center is happy to share information about events or activities that are relevant to faculty in the listserv each week. If you would like to request that we include an announcement, please email me a paragraph (three to four sentences) including a link to additional information if appropriate, by close of business on Wednesday for inclusion on the following Sunday. Due to technological constraints we cannot include attachments or HTML formatted text. Remember to include critical details like the place and time for the event and feel free to suggest a headline. Just send your announcements to me at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will help to spread the word.

Of course, grading is always difficult and time-consuming work, but it is a task that shows me what has worked, what hasn't, and what needs to be done or revised. Face-to-face or online interaction with my students...
College of Engineering and Computer Science I believe in challenging students with concepts and historical, theoretical, and contemporary problems while sharing my passion for the subject matter. Ensuring students are forced to think for themselves is essential. I accomplish this in my classes through team and individual problem-solving sessions, and compli...
College of Sciences The teaching profession is rich with opportunities to contribute in both academic and personal ways to society and individuals. It is critical that, as educators, we employ an ethic of engagement and reflexivity when it comes to our teaching practices. I strive to enact what Tobin Hart (2007) calls a "...
