New full-time faculty members at UCF participate in two required orientations, each having very different purposes. One is the New Employee  Orientation, at which you will complete the paperwork necessary for health and retirement benefits. The other is the New Faculty Orientation, at which you will learn about various policies and procedures  impacting your various roles as members of the UCF Faculty.

The New Faculty Academic Orientation

The two-day Academic Orientation serves several purposes related to promoting faculty success. It provides new faculty members with information about policies and procedures that will directly impact their work in and beyond the classroom, offers participants opportunities to connect with new colleagues and campus leaders, and presents attendees with a preview of the many kinds of professional development resources and opportunities available to them throughout the year. The event takes place during the week before the fall semester and includes complimentary lunch on the first day. See our teaching support page for information and resources to help prepare for teaching at UCF.
