Individual Consultations

Our staff members are available to provide individual consultations to anyone teaching at UCF. From answering emergency questions from new faculty about setting up their courses to brainstorming with experienced faculty about new assignments and pedagogies, and anything in between, we’re happy to meet with you. We can discuss issues in all course modalities, with our primary focus being on supporting in-person classes and synchronous (livestream) teaching.

To set up an appointment for a classroom observation by Faculty Center staff, give us a call at 407-823-3544 or e-mail fctl@ucf.edu, and we’ll call you back with two business days to arrange a preliminary meeting.

Departmental Consultations

Faculty Center staff frequently attend department meetings, workshops, retreats, or individual faculty members’ classes and present on a range of topics. We can take as much or as little time as you want, and provide either general information about our programming and services or training in a particular aspect of teaching. We are also happy to work with departments on teaching-related projects.

Assistance with Grants

While our primary goal is effective teaching and student learning, in some cases there may be an overlap with grants written by faculty. If your grant calls for significant revisions in teaching within your program, we may be able to provide ongoing assistance and training when the grant begins. The same is true of research grants that have an educational training component as part of their wider impacts. Depending on the ask of the Faculty Center, we may ask to be included in the grant’s budget to account for our effort. Requests for our assistance that are limited (especially one-time) usually do not require a budget line.

Call us to talk over your specific needs at 407-823-3544 or email us at fctl@ucf.edu.
