Interested in artificial intelligence? Join us on April 15 for a day of exploring artificial intelligence in a “mini conference” format. This event is open to faculty and staff, and will be held in the Student Union on the main campus. These sessions are face-to-face only. Later this year, video captures of these same topics will be made available for asynchronous viewing.

Note that this is a “come and go as you please” type of event. Lunch will be on your own during the noon hour.

See below for workshop details and the schedule. Register here: https://ucf.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_0xpt2902ygi4S4C

AI Basics and AI Fluency
If you’ve heard about AI but don’t know details, haven’t tried it deeply, or just want a thorough introduction to what Generative AI is, how it works, and what kinds of competencies and skills we need to be “AI fluent,” this session is for you.

AI Research Tools Responsible Use
As AI products continue to impact higher education, faculty and staff members may face challenges in understanding these tools’ potential, addressing ethical considerations, and integrating them effectively into their work. In this session, we’ll explore AI research tools like Research Rabbit, Elicit, and ExplainPaper that can enhance the research process for students and faculty. We’ll also discuss ethical considerations, focusing on responsible use, data privacy, and copyright, and provide practical strategies for avoiding common challenges. This session offers a broad overview, along with resources for further learning and support from the Faculty Center and UCF Libraries.

Creating Agents
Looking to create your own GPTs that have been custom-trained? This session will explore what’s possible using Copilot-Studio (note: UCF does not have a site license for Copilot-Studio. Individuals or departments would have to pay for access).

Introduction to Prompt Engineering
Prompt engineering is the process of crafting clear instructions for AI tools to help guide them toward delivering useful results. Attendees can apply these techniques to work more efficiently and solve problems faster in both professional and personal contexts. This session will highlight practical techniques for writing effective prompts and provide strategies for troubleshooting AI responses so you can take your AI content creation to the next level.
