In 2001, Anastasia Bojanowski began her 23-year teaching career as a Graduate Teaching Assistance at the University of Central Florida. Since then, she has taught first-year writing courses at UCF, Valencia College, and the State College of Florida-Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) where she was promoted to full professor, served as a Co-Chair on the AI Task Force, and directed the Center for Teaching & Learning Excellence.
Anastasia is committed to making materials accessible for all and embraces affordable instructional material (AIM) initiatives. During her time at SCF, she adopted a Zero Cost Textbook initiative in all her courses, worked closely with librarians, and sought student feedback to sustain the practice. Anastasia also believes in the capacity of experiential learning to engage students and promote reflection that leads to student success and satisfaction.
Anastasia is a lifelong learner. While teaching, mentoring, and serving at SCF, she recently earned her M.A. in Instructional Design & Technology (eLearning track) degree here at UCF and interned with UCF’s Center for Distributed Learning (2023-24). Anastasia is passionate about leveling the playing field for students by incorporating Universal Design principles and accessibility guidance in the classroom environment.
